Method 1- Check the Network Settings

Usually, the default security option is set to Wi-Fi Protected Access II (WPA2). Encryption in case of House Wi-Fi. So if you want to access the Internet then either replace your old router with a new one or change the Security settings. For latter follow the steps given below.

Step 1: Open Google Chrome or any other web browser. In the address bar, type or type the IP address written on the back of your Wi-Fi router.

Step 2: Then enter your Username or Password. Then navigate to Wireless Settings followed by Wireless Security Settings.

Step 3: Then set the Security Settings as WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption. Then keep a complex password and enter it in the section below.

After completing this action, check if the Wi-Fi router not working issue persists or not. If you are still not able to access the Internet. Then hop on to the next method.

Method 2- Fix Wi-Fi Router Problem by Resetting the TCP/IP Stack

Due to the corruption of the network, the router stops working and faces connection problem. In such case, by resetting the TCP/IP stack you can resolve the issue.

Step 1: Launch the Jump list by pressing the Windows key+ X together. Then from the list click on Command Prompt (Admin).

Step 2: In the Command window, type the following command and press Enter.

netsh int ip reset reset.log

netsh winsock reset catalog

Step 3: Windows will start its process. Wait till it completes the task and then restart your system.

Method 3- Update your Network Drivers Manually or Automatically

You can face the Wi-Fi- router not working issue in case of a faulty, outdated or incorrectly configured Network driver. If none of the above methods help you to the fix Internet issue, then you can check your Device Manager for faulty drivers.

In the Device Manager window, if you observe a yellow exclamation mark beside the Network device, then it won’t be working properly. So you can fix the issue by right clicking on it and update the concerned drivers. You can update the network adapter’s driver either by downloading it from the official website and installing it on your system. Or you can take help from Driver Easy like tools which update the drivers for you.

Step 1: Download Driver Easy and install it on your desktop or laptop. Then Click on the Scan Now option.

Step 2: Driver Easy will begin the process of analyzing and come up with a list of drivers that are outdated and needs to be updated. There will be an Update link beside each diver.

Step 3: Click on the Update option beside Network adapter’s driver. Or click on Update All option.

Method 4- Check Wi-Fi Router

Many times the router the issue is caused due to the device itself. And so you can check the router and around it for any problem. So just reboot your Wi-Fi router, all the device that is connected to it like your PC or laptop, and modem. Then connect all of the devices to check if Internet access problem is solved.
