Fortunately, the popular manufacturer of touchpad Synaptics supports the feature of two-finger scroll but it is disabled by default. So here are a few ways by which you can fix two fingers scroll not working on Windows 10.

Two Fingers Scroll not Working on Windows 10?

If suddenly you have lost the control of accessing and working with two fingers, then do not worry. Apply the solutions discussed above to resolve the issue at the earliest.

Method 1- Change the Mouse Pointer

Some users have reported that changing the mouse pointer has worked for them. So start troubleshooting with this method.

Step 1: Open Control Panel. Then change the View by option to Category.

Step 2: Select Hardware and Sound. Now under Devices and Printers, you will notice the Mouse option.

Step 3: Click on it. The Mouse Properties window will open.

Step 4: Under the Pointers tab, open the drop-down list of Scheme. Select a new pointer like a black solid one.

Step 5: Apply the changes made by clicking on Apply and then Ok.

Method 2- Enable Two Finger Scrolling to Fix the issue on Windows 10

If changing the mouse pointer doesn’t help, then you can check if the two-finger scrolling option is enabled or not. Follow the steps given below to complete the action.

Step 1: Follow the given path- Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers > Mouse

Step 2: In the Mouse Properties window, click on the Device Settings tab. Here select the Synaptics touchpad. Then click on Settings option

Step 3: Next expand the MultiFinger Gestures. Locate Two finger scrolling and enable it by ticking the box against the option.

Step 4: Click on Apply and save the changes.

Method 3- Roll Back/ Install Lower Version of Touchpad Driver

After the Windows 10 Anniversary update, most of the issues are due to the faulty or outdated driver. So rolling back to the older version of touchpad driver is also a possible method to troubleshoot the error.

Step 1: Open Device Manager and locate Mice and other pointing devices. Expand the category.

Step 2: Right-click on the touchpad installed on your system. Choose Properties.

Step 3: Here click on the Driver tab, and then select Roll Back Driver option. If you are allowed to restore the driver you will get a confirmation message. Click on Yes.

Step 4: Now restart your system and check if rolling back the touchpad driver worked for you. If not then it is time uninstall it and then re-install the latest version or update it.

Method 4- Uninstall and Update Touchpad Driver

If restoring the older touchpad driver also doesn’t restore two finger scroll on Windows 10 then uninstall it, and then update it. Follow the steps given below to fix the issue.

Step 1: Open Device Manager on your system and then locate your touchpad. Double click on it to open the Properties of the same.

Step 2: Under the Driver tab, click on Uninstall option. You will be prompted to confirm your action. Check the box against the Delete the driver for this software, and click on Ok.

Step 3: Now Update your touchpad driver either manually or automatically.

Step 4: You can update the driver manually by going to the Device Manager by downloading the correct driver file from the manufacturer’s website. You can also download and install the compatible version of a touchpad with the help of one-click driver updater tools like DriverEasy or Driver Talent.
