Calculator Not Working in Windows 10

Solution 1: Reinstalling Calculator

Now the basic and easiest way to fix the error is to reinstall Calculator App for Windows 10. You can easily download and install Calculator For Windows 10. First, you have to uninstall the old Calculator App. You can uninstall it with a PowerShell cmdlet.

Step 1: Open Windows Search with Win + S. Then type PowerShell.

Step 2: Now right click on it and then select Run as administrator.

Step 3: Now you have to copy and paste this unique code in powershell windows and then press Enter.

Get-AppxPackage *windowscalculator* | Remove-AppxPackage

Your Windows Calculator app is now removed.

Now to reinstall it, copy and paste the command and press Enter.

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

Now note that you can also reinstall Calculator from Microsoft App Store.

Solution 2: Re-register Windows 10 apps

You can fix calculator not working error with this method and not only calculator, but it will fix all the issues with any Windows 10 App.

Step 1: Press Win + S for Windows Search and then type PowerShell > Right Click on it.

Step 2: Select Run as administrator. Once launched, copy this code and paste it to Powershell command windows > Enter.

This command will re-register all installed Apps in Windows 10. Reboot PC and see if Calculator is working or not.

Solution 3: Create a new user account

You can fix the issue by creating a new user account in Windows 10.

Step 1: Press Win + S for Windows Search > Type “Add User” > Select “Add, edit, or remove other users” or you can go to Settings then account and then Family & other users.

Step 2: Click the Add someone else to this PC option from Family & other users.

Step 3: Choose I don’t have this person’s sign-in information.

Step 4: Click Add without a Microsoft Account.

Step 5: Enter username and password for a Local user. Once created, switch to it and open Calculator from that account. If it is working, then you can delete old account and start using this new local user account.

Solution 4: SFC scan

SFC scan can fix this issue. Due to corrupted files, the problem can occur. So follow these steps:

Step 1: Press Win + S > Search for cmd > right click > select Command Prompt (Admin).

or Press Win + X > Choose cmd as admin.

Step 2: Type “sfc /scannow” > Enter. It will take some time. Once finished, reboot PC and check calculator App.

Solution 5: Install Windows 10 updates.

If you are still running old Windows 10 then you have to update it.

Step 1: Press Win + I for Windows Settings.

Step 2: Got to Update & security.

Step 3: Click on Check for updates. This will check and download all the remaining Windows 10 updates.

Solution 6: Use Windows app troubleshooter

Download and install Windows app troubleshooter on your PC. Once done, open it and start the scan.

It will check and scan all the installed Apps on Windows 10. Show all the details. Follow it and see what is the issue.

Solution 7: Reset Calculator app

Step 1: Go to Settings with Win + I.

Step 2: Go to Apps > Choose Calculator > Advanced options.

Step 3: Click on Reset. This will reset all the data of the Calculator App.
