Do You Remember TLC Who Toured Together With Bone Thugs N’Harmony?

Rap concerts are making a big comeback on the music scene. Bone Thugs N’Harmony is proof that you don’t have to be active on stage all the time for the audience to adore you. This popular hip-hop band from the 90s often returns to the stage in different guises. Some members’ past is controversial, full of scandals, and several arrests and prison terms. But that’s why Bones are all present today and ready to conquer the audience again. They even want to get young fans on the fringes, so they can share their love of music and compose with them.

Nowadays, finding a ticket to any Bone Thugs n Harmony concert or festival performance is challenging. In addition to several solo shows, the legends will also perform as guests of Ice Cube and Cypress Hill, as well as at the Legends of the Mic event in December.

Many fans are hoping that the famous members of TLC will join them in their solo concerts, as Bones did in 2021 on the TLC tour.

Many of today’s audiences know nothing about these girls, but millennials remember well that this popular duo was once a trio. And what else do you need to know about the Bone Thugs n Harmony TLC concert sensation and the popularity of TLC in general?

Stay with us for more interesting information.

TLC Used to be a Popular Trio

Back in the 90s, Tionne, Lisa, and Rozonda decided to perform together. Their band name is an acronym of nicknames T-Boz (Tionne), Left-Eye (Lisa), and Chilli (Rozonda). And they were a pretty famous brand with R&B and Left Eye’s rapping. Many popular bands, including Destiny’s Child, took an example from TLC.

Together, the girls released four studio albums, but their plans were ruined by the tragic death of Lisa the Left Eye. Lisa died in a car accident in 2022, and the girls continued as a duo because no one could replace her.

Rozonda is not an Original Member

Even though Rozonda’s nickname is Chilli, the C in TLC is not for her. There was a girl named Crystal Jones, who was the original member of TLC, together with Tionne and Lisa.

Interestingly, the band was assembled on audition, and Tionne and Lisa really “clicked” well, while the production decided to replace Crystal with Chilli.

On the other hand, Crystal says she was too young and wanted her mom to read the contract before signing it, which wasn’t allowed. So, she decided it was time to leave, feeling like she was not wanted in the band.

Bone Thugs N’Harmony Were Happy to Support TLC

As we all know, hip-hop artists support each other. They record songs together as guest artists and perform in concerts.

The 2021 TLC Bone Thugs concert tour is a great example of love and support, just like everyone deserves.

It must have been hard for TLC to bring back the 90s vibe without Lisa, but Bone Thugs helped them stay strong. And we must say the audience really enjoyed these concerts.

Lisa’s Casket was Engraved With her “Waterfalls” Verse

“Waterfalls” is a signature TLC song, and every generation knows it. When Lisa died, many people couldn’t believe the world lost another talented person less than a year after Aaliyah’s death.

Lisa Lopes was buried in a white casket with her verse from “Waterfalls” engraved on it. Lisa was the only person who died in the accident. Also, the verse is engraved on her tombstone, and the other members often visit it.

“Waterfalls” has a Deep Meaning

TLC was always about protection and safe sexual intercourse. In the 90s, girls were loud in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Their song “Waterfalls” is in support of all the AIDS victims.

TLC was socially conscious and supportive when many other celebrities couldn’t even imagine discussing AIDS and safe sex publicly.

They Didn’t Really Have Money

TLC was very popular in the 90s. The same year they won two Grammys, they announced they were completely broke. Even though they already had popular songs and albums, they declared bankruptcy.

TLC blamed this on their former manager Perri Reid, who took all the credit for their deals and shared it with the other producers. Somehow they managed to set a deal and get out of the unpleasant situation.

T-Boz Suffered a Brain Tumor

A few years after Lisa died. Tionne T-Boz suffered sickle cell anemia, which resulted in a brain tumor. It took three years until she was completely healthy.

T-Boz underwent urgent surgery because the tumor could cause hearing and speech loss and other health issues.

Chilli Was in a Relationship With Usher

Usher and Chilli were in a relationship, and she appeared in a few of his videos. After they broke up, the fans thought the album “Confessions” was about Chilli.

But the truth is that Usher was just singing songs written for other people who barely knew him. Since all the hype happened after Chilli and Usher broke up, the audience got used to the belief the album was about the TLC member, so they simply let that happen.

Lisa had Another Nickname Besides “Left Eye”

Lisa was having a hard time with her alcoholism but decided to fight against it. It’s sad to learn that she was clean by the time of her death, hoping she will have her life together soon.

In the VH1 documentary released after she died, named “The Last Day of Left Eye,” Lisa mentions a person named Nikki. It’s her when she drinks. It was her alter ego she was fighting so hard against. And everyone was sad watching the documentary, knowing she died before even managing to pull herself together and enjoy life.

As you can see, TLC had so many challenging things to overcome throughout its career. At some point, they didn’t really want to record any new material without the Left Eye with them, but somehow managed to publish new albums. The TLC and Bone Thugs tour was the 2021 highlight for all the millennials who loved both bands back in the 90s.

And one thing is for sure. Everyone misses Lisa Lopes badly.
